ROK house has been internally constructed to an excellent standard. Each room has its own underfloor heating system, individually controlled. The downstairs wet room is excellent (although the toilet is a little high!), and the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area great too. The wooden floor is ideal for those with dogs. The downside to this area is that the supplied vacuum cleaner is a bit feeble if you've been to the beach, but the owner accepted this, so it wasn't a big deal. The upstairs bathroom is also excellent. We used the back bedroom with a super king size which provided a good night's sleep. There are 2 other bedrooms that we did not use. There is a road (not major) at the front be we never heard any road noise. There is a small patio area to the rear, but no garden, which was a shame for the dogs. There was private parking to the rear, which, as others have mentioned, could be awkward for those with large cars - I have a medium hatchback and managed. Close by was the Welwood arms, very dog-friendly which served good food. Nearby is a high street with a good variety of shops, including a Co-op. It's about a mile to the front, but due to the layout of Amble (it's a small port with an estuary to the North), it's a bit of a trek to the beach.
